Happy Memorial Day Weekend! ðŸ‡ºðŸ‡¸

1 Peter 2:17

Show proper respect to everyone: Love the brotherhood of believers, fear God, honor the king.

Thank you Colonel Darden & Colonel Petrek for your service! Bob y’all will have to come back up again this season! 🇺🇸

We had 2″ of snow 7 weekends ago and May has produced above average temperatures daily in central Ohio. We also had snow April 9th and the high today was 89 degrees! July & August are forecasted to be below or at normal according someone that works in the weather reporting industry. April 7th 2018May 24, 2018

Great job y’all for getting the courses ready for the weekend. All the bunkers are now complete and we have 22 staff members, but continue to operate below the regional & national average for labor hours. I surveyed various local clubs and we are operating less than or equal to 18 hole courses for 36. We utilize an IPM and BMP approach in our department; ergo it’s just unique. But this also means we will attempt to keep the grass on the short cut areas higher and drier to cut down on plant protectants. The demands remain the same, and even increase, so the ergonomic output must coincide to produce effective results. The GCSAA recently published an article about doing more for less. That sounds intriguing but the answer is simple! You can not produce more for less.

I saved some wetting tablets from last year so we can hand water “hot spots” Jim was able to remove the hydrostatic pump on the 4500 D yesterday and replaced the clutch plate in it today which is absolutely amazing to complete that task. Below is a side by side of the old plate and the new one! We got lucky that part was less than $500 and a new pump is about $4000

In between Spraying pre-emergents I’ve switched out some broken heads around the greens. We will be doing that as resources permit.

Saturday Sunrise

Sammy early Saturday mowing greens. Pre-emergents applied & early post emergent control for Digitaria grasses. Applied Nutrients & plant protectants to the greens again this week earlier than scheduled due to extreme pressure from Sclerotinia homoeocarpa.

Nutrient uptake by the C3 bundle sheath cells! Mint. Happy Holliday’s Wilson!
